The history of the Yurt, Mongolia traditional habitat

The Mongolia Yurt appeared about 2000 years ago and evolved significantly over centuries. It's a family home, composed of a single unique room around the stove. There are several beds which serve as seats during the day, cupboards and/or chests of drawers, a coffee table where the meals are served. The only opening through is the front door. On the other side is the head of family's bed. The Yurt is easily disassembled and reassembled. in a few hours. In Mongolia, more than one million people still live under a Yurt.
