Le Sauternais (Sauternes area)

South-Gironde, and more particularly the Sauternais, is the cradle of a famous wine's production : the Sauternes. This sweet (liquorous) wine with its golden color is a precious treasure for the region. The Sauternes' vineyards, 10 kms away from Domaine EcÔtelia, welcome you for tastings. You will therefore discover its secrets. You will learn that nature is the reason of the quality of this white wine. In fact, vines that develop along the rivers benefits from the growth of noble rot that provides the distinctiveness of the Sauternes wine. If you walk along the vineyards make sure to book a tour in a wine property which will be the opportunity to discover this sweet wine, or for insiders, to taste it again.

The Graves Châteaux

The route des vins (The wine road)

La Route des vins, classified as destination Vignobles et Découvertes (vineyards and discovery) extends 50 kms and offers you to discover the region's vineyards. Close to the Estate, this route is the opportunity to improve your knowledge and to enjoy the beautiful landscapes of Graves and Sauternes.

 

Our wine-themed lodgings, such as the Wine Lodge or the Wine Caravan, will allow you to rest and enjoy a glamping stay while immersing yourself in the wine world.

La cité des civilisations et du vin de Bordeaux

 

La Cité du Vin, in Bordeaux, is a large exhibition on terroir and the region's vineyards. True story tellers of the wine's history, the initiatory and playful routes will allow you to improve your knowledge in wine.


La Cité du vin is situated about 60 kms away from the Estate and is open from 10.00 am to 6.00 pm during the weekends, national holidays and school breaks.

 

 

Ste Croix du Mont

Sainte Croix-du -Mont is a sweet (liquorous) wine that you will be able to taste directly on site. Coming from a close village, you will also have the opportunity to visit its vineyards and its Châteaux during a walk around the Estate.

 

The bordelais

The Bordelais combines the majority of the region's appelations and represents the largest vineyard in France. This appelation is world famous and offers high quality wines with its famous Grands Crus Classés. Thanks to the blending of different grape varieties and diversified soils, the Bordelais offers numerous styles of red wines, rosé wines, white wines and even sparkling wines.

 

It allows you to discover all the aspects of the regional wine. Wine lovers will therefore be pleased to rediscover the great wines directly from their producing site. In fact, the Bordelais is a real treasure for wine lovers but also for insiders to discover many types of wines, and therefore learn more about the secrets of the wine world.

The Cité du Vin, in Bordeaux, is a great exhibition of the terroir and regional vineyards. True tales of the history of wine, the initiation and fun routes will allow you to deepen or enrich your knowledge of oenology.


La Cité du vin is located approximately 60 km from the Domaine and is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. or from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on weekends, public holidays and school holidays.
